2008-2009 Season Schedule

At long last, Redwood Theatre has announced our 2008-2009 Season.

Night Must Fall

by Emlyn Williams
directed by Judy Schwanke and Michelle Tuck

October 10-October 25, 2008
Auditions August 3 and 4, 2008.

Danny, a bellhop from a nearby hotel, arrives at the Bramson bungalow and quickly insinuates himself into the aged owner’s affections. The owner’s niece firmly believes she hates Dan, but as a matter of fact she is fascinated by him beyond measure. Dan is selfish and self-centered with no feelings and a vast imagination. Is he only acting for his own edification or is he actually a very dangerous psychopath?

Crimes of the Heart

by Beth Henley
directed by Teresa Widner

February 6-February 21, 2009

The Magrath sisters have trouble with men. Lonely Lenny never married, failed singer/actress Meg lost count, and the youngest, Babe, married an abuser—and shot him. Now the sisters reunite at Old Granddaddy’s home in Hazelhurst, Mississippi to face life’s most absurd tragedies. Alone, each woman might call it quits. Together, they’ll have the most hilarious time of their lives.

Illyria

Book, music, and lyrics by Peter Mills
Adapted by Peter Mills and Cara Reichel from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night
Directed by ShawnJ West
Assistant directed by Roy Arauz

April 24-May 9, 2009

This musical re-telling of Twelfth Night, Shakespeare’s greatest comedy, captures both the rollicking energy of the play’s hilarious hijinks and its deeply felt emotions of loss and unrequited love.
